I want to let you know about a great Spiritual adventure I am about to embark upon….

On July 25th I will be leaving for China, on a 100-day retreat given by my teacher Master Yu. Master Yu is recognized as the Dharma King of China, which means that all the Spiritual teachers there have acknowledged him as having reached the highest level of enlightenment –surpassing them all. He is offering, for the 2nd and last time in his lifetime, a Dharani retreat designed to support the spiritual advancement and enlightenment of the student. I am thrilled to be going and look forward to returning and sharing my new knowledge with all of you.

The retreat is traditional in format and I will be going on a pilgrimage to the 5 sacred mountains of China and to 18 different monasteries.  Each mountain is considered to be the dwelling place of a Bodhisattva or Enlightened Being. These particular Bodhisattvas have dedicated themselves to the service of assisting all sentient creatures in the transcendence of worldly suffering and the attainment of enlightenment. At each sacred place we will be doing ceremonies designed to support spiritual attainment and the healing of others as well as ourselves. The 5 sacred mountains are:

• Pu Tuo Shan, Buddhist mountain of the east, Zhejiang province. Sacred to Kuan-Yin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion.
• Wu Tai Shan, Buddhist mountain of the north, Shanxi province. Sacred to Manjushri, the Bodhisattva of Wisdom.
• Emei Shan, Buddhist mountain of the west, Sichuan province. Sacred to Samantabhadra, the Bodhisattva of Benevolent Action.
• Jiu Hua Shan, Buddhist mountain of the south, Anhui province. Sacred to Kshitigarbha, the Bodhisattva of Salvation.
• Jizushan  In the Yunnan province sacred to Maitreya the bodhisattva of loving kindness
• If you look at a map of China you will see that in order to go to all of the mountain shrines I will be traveling all over China!
